Greetings,
I have an Epiphone Joe Pass archtop and I would like to add a Bigsby. Which is a better fit, the B6 or the B7?
Asked by Anonymous on February 29th, 2016.
The B6 is designed more for large archtops and jazz boxes so this would probably be better than the B7.
Thanks very much for the quick answer to my question. After studying both the B6 and the B7, I feel you are 100% correct. Plus no holes have to be drilled in the top with the B6.

I have an Ibanez AKJV90D Artcore Expressionist Vintage. Will it fit and is there a strain on the guitar?
Asked by Anonymous on June 8th, 2017.
This would be a good choice for a full sized archtop although you may need to drill a few holes at the lower bout for the hinge. There is always risk involved when doing a modification to a guitar. With that in mind, these vibrato's are made of lightweight aluminum (0.84 lbs) and should not put too much strain on a guitar top.

Which adapter kit do I need to fit a Bigsby B6 to my Sheraton?
Asked by Anonymous on January 8th, 2019.
The link for the vibramate adapter for an epiphone archtop is as follows: https://www.amplifiedparts.com/products/adaptor-kit-vibramate-v7-335-e-epiphone-arch-top
Keep in mind this is for the B7 bigsby, not this B7 unit. Here is the link for the proper unit: https://www.amplifiedparts.com/products/vibrato-bigsby-b7-guitar-arch-top-electrics

I was expecting to drills in my Sheraton ll. I see there are no holes in this B6. Is the top end of this B6 held in place by the strings?
Asked by Anonymous on February 14th, 2019.
Yes, the holes in the plate by the bottom strap button are the only required drilling for this particular unit.

Would the B6G be the correct tailpiece for a 1990 Heritage Super Eagle?
Asked by Anonymous on March 15th, 2019.
There isn't a "correct" Bigsby unit for the guitar in question, but this unit is designed for large hollowbody guitars, and with the Super Eagle being a large, hollowbody guitar, I would say this is ideal for the guitar in question.

I would like to mount the bigsby B6
are the holes in the same position as those of the tailpiece or do I have to make others?

The B6 does not have mounting hole on the top of the body. The only mounting holes are the three where the strap button is mounted.

I have a 2010 Gibson ES335. The V shape piece that screws on, is it to long for my guitar/will it hang over in the back? Just looks like it would
Asked by Anonymous on March 21st, 2020.
The mounting bracket on this unit is 2 1/4" long. You will need to measure the width of your guitar to verify compatibility.

Is the Bigsby B6 the best choice to install on a Washburn Oscar Schmidt OE40N archtop guitar or the B7?
Asked by Anonymous on August 22nd, 2021.
The B3 would be the more ideal option between the two due to the fact that it doesn't require holes to be drilled in the top of the instrument as well as the reduced downward pressure from actuating the bar when compared to a B7.
