The Tube Amp Doctor Blackplate series offers the highest tube performance due to the stable heat dissipation of the black anode. This results in an increased tube-life and tones that rival the classic NOS tubes.
Starting at $17.76
New-Old-Stock (NOS) tube. Compactron twin-triode pentode.
The Tube Amp Doctor KT-66 is an incredible remake of the classic British tube. With its large glass envelope contoured by smooth curves tapering into a rounded brown base, the TAD KT-66 not only looks like the original, it performs like the original. This KT66 offers plenty of headroom for a thick full bodied sound with smooth yet articulate highs. The KT-66 is famously used in vintage British plexi amps and makes a great replacement for that style of amplifier and many others. The TAD KT66 is matched for both plate current and transconductance and passes all of the tests of the TAD Premium Selection process. The TAD KT-66 can be used in any KT-66 position as well as 6L6GC and 5881 amps that can supply the required 1.27A for the heater.

The Tube Amp Doctor KT88-STR is build just like the original tube with its thick curved glass envelope and metal base. The similarities don’t stop with its attractive appearance. This KT88 offers a lively and dynamic tone that is ideal in both HiFi audio amplifiers and high wattage guitar / bass amps. The sound of the TAD KT88 is pleasantly warm at all frequencies with detailed mids, articulate and nuanced highs, and harmonically rich and natural lows. The linear response is excellent. The TAD KT88-STR is matched for both plate current and transconductance and passes all of the tests of the TAD Premium Selection process.

The Tube Amp Doctor 6550A-STR is built and performs to the same standards as the highly sought after GE 6550A. TAD has meticulously designed the plate material to be as strong and pure as possible resulting in an exceptionally stable, consistent, and reliable 6550. The TAD 6550A features a thick straight glass envelope, a metal base, and an authentic triple getter. The frequency response of this tube is remarkably balanced and smooth. Transparent natural lows and thick rich mids with silky highs make this an excellent tube for HiFi equipment as well as classic bass guitar amplifiers. The Tube Amp Doctor 6550A-STR offers outstanding performance in all applications. This tube is matched for both plate current and transconductance. The TAD 6550A-STR also passes all of the tests required in the Premium Selection process.

Rated for more power than the standard 7581 (35W plate dissipation vs 30W plate dissipation).
Starting at $25.77
Metal, power-amplifier pentode primarily designed for use in the output stage of video amplifiers. The tube is capable of operating at high plate current levels and exhibits high transconductance and high power sensitivity.
The JJ Electronic 5881 is very similar to the 6L6GC but with a plate dissipation of 23W rather than 30W. Another physical difference is the shorter bulb. These tubes have a soft and balanced response that sounds great in both guitar amps and hifi equipment. The JJ 5881 will work in any amp that uses 6L6 tubes.
Starting at $16.87
Novar type beam power tube used as a horizontal-deflection amplifier in color and black-and-white television receivers.
Beam power tube for horizontal-deflection-amplifier service in black-and-white TV receivers.
Semi-remote cutoff triode in the 7 pin miniature construction. It is designed for use as a VHF and RF amplifier at a B+ of 135 volts.
Neutrode triode tuner in the 7 pin miniature construction. It is designed for use in grounded cathode RF amplifiers, with the neutrode construction providing a lower grid to plate capacitance with consequent ease of neutralization.
Duplex-diode high-mu triode in which separate cathodes are provided for the diode and triode sections. The tube is primarily intended for service as a combined horizontal phase detector and reactance tube in television receivers.
Twin medium-mu triode whose sections are electrically independent except for the common heater. It is designed especially for use in equipment where the operating voltages are obtained from a 12 cell storage battery
The 12JT6A is the same as the 6JT6A except for heater characteristics and ratings.
Duodecar type used as a horizontal deflection amplifier in color television receivers.
Russian Tung-Sol 7581 tube. Beam power pentode with octal base. (May be substituted for 6L6GC). Made in Russia.

The 10BQ5 is an output pentode designed for application in medium power hi-fi amplifiers. A pair of tubes in class AB, push-pull conventional operation yields an output of up to 17 watts at 4% distortion (without feedback).
Combines a half-wave rectifier and a beam-power amplifier in the same envelope. It is designed for AC-DC service from a 117 volt line in three-way portable receivers.
Miniature type used as a vertical deflection oscillator or af amplifier and vertical deflection amplifier or af power amplifier in television receivers. Requires miniature 9-contact socket.
Miniature type used in combined vertical-deflection-oscillator and vertical-deflection-amplifier applications in black and white television receivers. Requires miniature 9-contact socket.
