Vacuum Tube - EL84, JJ Electronics
The JJ Electronic EL84 is a solidly built EL84 / 6BQ5 with excellent tonal qualities. JJ’s rugged construction of this tube offers high reliability without any compromise to the sound. This tube has solid lows with warm bright mids and shimmery highs. When saturated the harmonics are rich and dynamic. The JJ EL84 nails the classic sound of this tube. This tube can replace any EL84 or 6BQ5 tube.

I bought the power matched pair and noticed that one tubes filaments glow brighter than the other, is this normal?
Asked by Anonymous on October 14th, 2016.
A blue glow on the surface of the glass, mica, or metal is fine. A blue or violet cloud within the tube structure is bad.
An orange glow from the filament or cathode in the middle of the tube is normal and can vary from very bright to very dim depending on how it is covered from view by the surrounding structures. A red or orange glow on the surface of the plate is bad and is referred to as "red-plating." This is caused by setting the bias of the tube too hot.
If the tube was bad you would hear it.

Do this work in a fender hot rod deluxe iii?
Asked by Anonymous on May 24th, 2017.
If you want to use EL84's with your amp you will need to purchase the "YJS" or "YJShort" Yellow Jackets. These are pin converters that allow you to safely use EL84's in your amp.

Do you sell tubes for mesa boogies?
Asked by Anonymous on January 29th, 2018.
Towards the end of the checkout process there will be a notes section where you will want to state, "please match as middle numbers." This range is compatible with all Mesa amps.

Do these work for an epiphone valve Jr 5 watt head? I have had two burn up when i turned on my amp.
Asked by Anonymous on March 13th, 2018.
The Epiphone valve Jr calls for one EL84 and one 12AX7. In fact, we carry a tube set for your amp. Do a search for SET-EPIPHONE-002.

Will this work on Blues jr?
Asked by Anonymous on May 31st, 2018.
The Blues Junior comes stock with a pair of EL84's and these would be an excellent choice for your amp.

Can these tubes work in a record player stereo amp. From 1964?The one I pulled out was a 6bq5 silvertone.
Asked by Anonymous on August 26th, 2018.
Yes, the 6BQ5 is the American name for these tubes. As they were commonly used in European amps, the European name EL84 has become the more commonly used term.

will this tube fit a Jet City PicoValve guitar amp head?
Asked by delvisdiaz on June 25th, 2020.
That amp appears to use power tubes with an octal base, so no, this is not compatible with that amp without an adapter.

Product Reviews
Solid EL84. Apex matching for my cathode biased amps is great. Sound great.
These tubes are great. They really made a difference in my Vox AC15. Well worth the price which wasn’t bad at all either.
The el84 JJ tubes were packed very good. Great service and fast shipping. The JJ'S sound great in my Jolida 102b amp.
Perfect transaction, packed well and fast delivery A+A+A+
Thank you for the quad of El84 tubes I have had good experiences with JJ tubes in the past, and these do not disappoint. I was happy to find a set during the current tube 'panic' , and at a reasonable price.
Prompt and safe delivery, as always.
Great tubes. They do sound different than the Chinese tubes they replaced in my AC30C2. To clarify, they sound different but not better or worse. The sound is less bright in the middle. I don't know how that translates to other Amps and Speakers but you will need to relearn your Knob positions if you have a specific sound you try to repeat. I would buy them again.
I ordered spare tubes for two of my guitar amps. The folks at Amplified Parts helped me pick the right tubes and shipped the ones that were in stock the next day. The tubes that weren’t in stock became available a few days later and shipped a couple of days later. Given the scarcity of tubes, I’m happy with the support I got from Amplified Parts. They are my go to tune source.
Good Product, delivered without issue!
When i buy a new amp , I always replace them with new JJ tubes, they are great tubes.
Spare replacement tube for guitar amp, arrived in good shape!
