According to the information about Apex matched JJ EL34'so this process eliminates the need to set the bias is this correct? Thank you
Asked by Anonymous on December 29th, 2016.
No, it depends on your amp. With any retube, you may need to make adjustments to your amp depending on the type of bias it has. Your amp will either be fixed adjustable bias (has bias pot on the back of the amp) , Fixed non-adjustable bias (bias is fixed by a resistor in your amp), or cathode bias (self biasing no bias required). The manual for your amp should be able to tell you what type of bias you have. Rebiasing am amp is something that should be done by an experienced tech.

Hi, the tubes i just bought are barely matched and on top of it, they blew right away. I took them to an amp tech had it biased and everything. I need to return them.

Are these the new JJ EL34IIs?
Asked by Anonymous on February 13th, 2018.
No these are regular EL34's. For the EL34II's do a search for T-EL34II-JJ.

I was going to order these as an Apex matched pair. Are they shipped as 2 in one box, or do I just get 2 boxes with one in each? Thanks.
Asked by Anonymous on October 27th, 2022.
Each tube is in their own individual box. Matched sets will have the Apex tape band around the boxes to keep them together.

These JJ Electronics EL34 main tubes have an excellent tone. They are just as good as the Mesa factory equipment. Amplified parts got these tube to me in 3 days! Ecellent service!!!

Seems to work well.
I like the JJ tubes EL34 and 12AX7 .I chose a different set of 12 AX7s on my current order because you said the JJ 12AX7s were out of stock .
Fast shipping.
Have not used them yet, but JJ's always find a home, in my Musicman HD130-R
... and now one of them died and blew a fuse.
The matching on these were nice and tight so I'm guessing these tubes are just junk.
Stick with inexpensive 'Marshall-labeled' tubes- they sound great and last for years. 40+ years with zero problems.
These don't go well with 1959HW or YJM100.
The low is muddy and there is a weird lower-mid honk that is VERY distracting. Highs aren't great either.
These things get worse as the tube gets more warmed up whereas most tubes sound better as they get warmer.
The JJ EL34 II's are only just ever so slightly better but not much. (I bought a set of each to try)
For Plexi's I guess I will never again venture away from Svetlana, Mullard, and Electro Harmonix. Those sound great every time.
Purchased a matched quad set with the burned in option for my EVH 5153 EL34 Stealth
Very satisfied
