Vacuum Tube - EL34 II, JJ Electronics, Pentode

The JJ Electronic EL34 II is a different construction of the classic EL34 tube that offers a different tonal palette than the original. This tube has a more compact plate structure than standard EL34’s. The JJ EL34 II has an increased low to low-mid end with plenty of headroom to spare. This tube has a thick and tight bass response. The mids are balanced and harmonically rich with pleasantly smooth highs. The JJ EL34 II is stronger than the original but not harsh sounding in any way. When overdriven, this tube has a warm and dynamic distortion that rivals many vintage tubes.

The JJ EL34II tube will offer earlier power tube breakup than a standard JJ EL34 but will not change the overall output of your amplifier in a significant way. Both tubes are rated at 25W so the difference would be in the plate structure which allows you to achieve a slightly tamer output with earlier breakup.

The EL34 II has a different, narrower plate structure which produces a tight, creamy overdrive distortion at a lower overall acoustic volume level as compared to a JJ EL34.

If your amp calls for EL34's then these should work. You will want to specify "middle numbers" in the notes section of the checkout process for compatibility with your Boogie.

Ordered an Apex matched quad, They biased at 31, 31, 35, 36 I called and got the ok to ship back which cost me $20. I get a text back from Westley stating they were perfectly matched and that they were sending them back which cost me another $10. Not too happy with the service.
