Vacuum Tube - ECC802 / 12AU7, JJ Electronics, Long Plate
The JJ Electronic ECC802 is a high performance, long plate version of the ECC82 / 12AU7. Like all JJ preamp tubes, these are built into a rugged package using the spiral filament and robust plate structure resulting in low microphonics and high reliability. The long plate version of this tube differs from the standard version with its stronger and fuller sound which offers a wider and more balanced frequency response. This tube ranges from deep rich lows to pristine highs covering a spectrum of harmonically dynamic mids along the way. This tube is an excellent choice for any guitar amp and perfect for studio and Hi-Fi equipment as well. This tube will work in any 12AU7 or ECC82 position.

I am buying this for a Hammond AO-29 amplifier. There are three different versions of the 12au7 from jj. Does anyone know what the difference?

This is the long plate version of JJ's regular 12AU7. This version has a fuller sound.

For a stereo preamp, are the triode sections of each tube measured against one another and matched? Is it possible to get one pair where the triode sections of one tube match the other?

This is not a service we currently offer. The TAD 12AU7 will have balanced triodes. Do a search for SKU: T-12AU7A-TAD.

Longer plate equals more gain. Good job JJ.
Used these to replace factory tubes in Blackstar HT-1R. Long Plate version sounds fantastic, but a little microphonic on the distorted channel with "green" setting enabled. I went back to the regular version of these tubes.
