Used this to replace a very noisy first preamp tube in an early Silvertone amp. This tube is as quiet as a mouse - can't ask for anything more! I rewired the amp to take a 6SN7 to troubleshoot while I was waiting for my parts to arrive, but restoring the SC7 to its rightful spot gave better tone. It's worth the extra $10 over the SN7 to keep the originality and tone, IMHO.
