I just replaced caps and a few other things out of whack on a Fender Black Face Princeton Reverb ... sweet amp, but needing some care. Having done this, I installed these TAD 6V6GTBs and found the tone to be quite pleasing, better than it ever had been on this amp. Was it the tubes or the refurbishing of the amp that gave such great tone? Probably both ... but for sure the tubes played their part. These tubes make this old amp sound like a vintage amp should, clear, articulate, with no thin or clangly notes, all rich, with good sustain and just the right amount of grit, whether it be with a Tele, Strat, or Les Paul. Perhaps not quite as loud and aggressive as JJs, which to my ears produce a more "rock" kind of vibe. These TADs are more like the Tung Sol 6V6GT (another great tube), which has that fat, compressed, vintage bluesy vibe, but are also perhapsl a bit chimier, in a good way. I highly recommend these tubes. Dealings with Amplified Parts good ... everything ordered arrived quickly and intact.
