Can you use these anywhere you can use a 12AX7? What is the difference between 12AX7a and 12AX7b?
Asked by Anonymous on August 18th, 2016.
Yes, a 12AX7 and a 12AU7 are interchangeable. In fact, all of the following tubes work where a 12AX7 would go: 5751, 12AT7, 12AY7 and 12AU7. The 12AX7 will have the most gain and the 12AU7 will have least amount gain.

Hi, we do not match preamp tubes at this time.

What is the highest quality 12AU7 or ECC82 you have in stock please?
Asked by Anonymous on April 5th, 2017.
It is hard for us to say what is the highest quality 12AU7 as tone is subjective. The JJ is the most popular 12AU7 we carry.
