Tolex Glue - Brush-on Adhesive

Starting at: $24.95
In stock

Brush-on adhesive ideal for applying tolex. Cleans up with soap and water. No nasty solvents required. Does not stretch or shrink the vinyl. Comes in quarts or gallons.

Specifications: Tolex Glue is a non-flammable, Neoprene based, water borne adhesive formulated to bond tolex and vinyl to wood and wood based substrates.
Min. use temp: 45°F
Freezes at 32°F and lower
Shelf Life: 6 Months

Directions: Surfaces to be bonded must be clean. Apply a very thin coat to both surfaces. Very porous surfaces may require more than one coat. Second coat should not be applied until first has dried. Allow to 'flash off' for 20-30 minutes. Cloudy areas indicate incomplete drying. This time can be shortened with forced air and/or heat. Position pieces carefully prior to bringing surfaces together as bond is made instantly. A pinch or J-roller roller is recommended to obtain proper mating.

Clean Up: Cleans up easily with warm soapy water.
Store tightly closed at room temperature. DO NOT Freeze.

Cautions or Warnings: for industrial use only. Consult MSDS prior to use

Please note that because grill cloth/tolex needs to be cut, we cannot accept any returns on these items. Small tolex samples are available for evaluation by ordering part S-GSAMPLE. You can also order a full set of all of our Tolex samples by ordering S-GSG2.

You would want to get the gallon for a 4x12. Tolex glue does not have much viscosity and you will need to apply the glue to the cab and the tolex. We also recommend 4 yards of tolex for a standard 4x12.

This should be enough to cover a standard sized combo amplifier though individual results may vary.

1 quart may not be enough depending on your application technique. If in doubt you may want to get the gallon.

I've used several different "brands" of glue for tolex. This product from Amplified Parts is absolutely the best. I won't use any other from now on. Please don't change the formula.

This product works great to glue tolex to an amplifier case. Water base, no odor, and sticks like crazy. I would recommend it when re-covering an amp cabinet.

This is a great product! Before this, I had never had to do any repairs to amp coverings. I needed to do a repair on a '66 Deluxe Reverb and do it right. This product allowed me to do that. It was easy to brush on where I needed it. With a rubber roller, I was able to glue it down in a fast, easy manner. Then, with a wet paper towel, I was able to wipe off excess until it was very clean. The final repair was fanstastic. I would highly recommend this product!

This stuff works perfectly, just what the Dr ordered. Works extremely well with tweed cloth.
