Speakers. The last opportunity to modify your tone. Unlike hi-fi speakers which attempt to create sounds that are true to the musical source fed them, guitar speakers impart their own tone. Your amp/cabinet pretty much determines three things about what speaker to select; speaker size, impedance and power rating. (See our tech corner article on Speaker Impedance, Power Handling and Wiring). But the tone is up to you! Speaker replacement is probably the easiest mod you can perform.
Speaker - Jensen® Jets, 12", Blackbird, 40W
The Blackbird 40 is the first speaker in the Jet Series featuring Jensen's exclusive Reinforced AlNiCo magnet technology. The voice of the Blackbird 40 offers a powerful, controlled bass range and all the sparkly brilliance that is typical of the classic Jensen Speakers. Equally suited to clean, quasi-acoustic tones, to crunchy overdrive ones, up to powerfully distorted lead tones, the Blackbird 40 offers a very distinct yet versatile character. It suits a wide range of applications, form the traditional, warm, jazz, country, rock and blues tones, up to the fiercer brit-style power-chords and lead lines.

The Mod 12-110 is a 12" ferrite speaker with 110 watts of power. Strong, punchy, and articulate with emphasis on the mids. It responds to overdrive distortion with a tight and balanced fuzz that remains strong and straightforward.

Speaker - Jensen® Jets, 12", Tornado Stealth 65, 65W
Few speakers speak ‘classic rock’ like the Neodymium powered Tornado Stealth 65. Sharing a similar 1 ¾” voice coil design with the Nighthawk, it delivers vintage and modern rock tones with ease and authority. With a well-controlled top end, a typical British-voiced midrange and fat, warm bass range, the Tornado Stealth 65 is an ideal choice for classic flavored rock tones. Very easy to drive for any amplifier, it allows even the smaller sized open back combo amps to rock with bigger-than-life tones.
Speaker - Jensen® Vintage Ceramic, 10", C10R, 25W, 8Ω
Developed as the ceramic version of the P10R, for low-powered studio amps, the C10R is revered for having been the speaker of the Blackface Princeton®, the Princeton Reverb® and many others. The combination of the warm sounding circuit of the Princeton and the bright, colorful tone of the C10R delivers magical tones in any recording session.

Peavey 14XT™ Diaphragm replacement kits include complete gap cleaning instructions. (To prevent gap contamination by foreign materials, a failed diaphragm assembly should not be removed before a new diaphragm assembly is ready to be installed.)

The Punch BP 10/150 is a 10" ferrite speaker with 150 watts of power. Punch Sound speakers offer great dynamics and super-fast response, giving the player an extremely solid bass sound. The C12K-2 is a step forward from the C12K. It has a different cone membrane which grants a more extended treble response to increase the detail and the shimmer of the tone, yet retains a well contoured smoothness. Equally at home with clean and mid-gain crunch tones, the C12K-2 offers an outstanding response to the player’s touch. When used with higher gain tones, it offers a powerful, rounded, organic tone that delivers a full-bodied thickness to single note lead runs.

The G12M Greenback has evolved over the decades but still retains its essential, sought-after tone. This version exhibits all the classic G12M characteristics but is voiced with additional broad mid-range attack and restrained top-end to give a forward, punchy attitude to chords and a searing lead tone without fizz. With its well-controlled low-end it can be used singly in low-powered amps, or in multiples for high-power rock heads. It's an ideal speaker to bring drive and definition to modern high gain amps. Speaker - Jensen® Jets, 12", Tornado Stealth 100, 100W
The Tornado Stealth 100 is the original Tornado 12, the first of the new generation of Neodymium speakers in the Jensen offering with an added stylish bell cover over the magnet. Possibly the most versatile Jensen speaker ever, it has clear, almost HD top end, well-balanced midrange and powerful bass end. It lends itself to a wide range of musical genres, with a smooth, never aggressive personality, from fast solo runs, to complex chordal harmonies, to soulful lead tones.
Speaker - Jensen® Vintage Ceramic, 12", C12N, 50W
The C12N is one of the most important speakers in Jensen’s history. It is the top 12” speaker of the ‘Blackface Era, used by many American manufacturers in the mid ‘60s for their upper range models when the price of AlNiCo became unsustainable for the manufacturers. Clear highs, solid mids, and powerful basses, it epitomizes the tone of that decade, from the surf, the rock n’ roll, the electric blues and the West Coast inspired music. It was used in Twin, Bassmanä and Bandmasterä style amps, and many others.

The Electric Lightning 10 shines and shimmers with clean tones, because of its exceptional response on the upper frequencies.
