Speaker - Jensen® MOD®, 10", MOD10-35, 35W
The Mod 10-35 is a 10" ferrite speaker with 35 watts of power. Warm, straightforward tone and tight bass frequencies. When presented with overdrive distortion, it takes on a gritty edge.
The MOD® Speakers lineup is a collaborative effort with MOD® Electronics that provides musicians with a classic sounding speaker voicing that doesn't shy away from new technologies and modern advancements. Unbound from the restraints of producing an authentic reissue, Jensen® and MOD® have developed a new series of speakers that carefully blends the clarity of the vintage Americans with the forward, driving tone of their vintage British counterparts. The result is an extremely versatile sound that sits well in any mix, be it classic rock, blues, jazz, or contemporary genres.

I bought a pair of these for a 2x10" Bill-Fitzmaurice-design "Crossfire" cab that I built with an open back. The speakers are of a very clean construction and there are two things about them that have stood out to me. For reasons I've forgotten, I ran a press conference that I was interested in hearing into the input of a Princeton Reverb connected to my Crossfire cabinet and I was surprised at how uncolored the audio was; I never felt like I was listening through a guitar amp. This is very different from, say, how Joe Bonamassa sounds on his British Blues Explosion Live album/DVD where there's a distinct low-mid "honk" present. The other notable thing - and this I acknowledge is as much about the cab as the speakers - is how much bass is available if you want it. It's not booming or indistinct but if you crank the tone knob accordingly, it'll get bass in your face.
