The Eminence Governor IMHO is THE BEST speaker on the market, particularly at this price point. I am 70 years old and have played everything under the sun and I currently have (12)!! EG's in ALL of my various cabinets. The key to this speaker's superiority is it's Db sensitivity rating, which measures how loud the speaker is at One Watt at One foot away from the microphone. At ~100.4 Db this speaker literally, "Jumps" out of the cabinet with it's Presence. Other speakers down in the 97-98 Db range will sound dull by comparison. The speaker remains perfectly clear and sparkling on clean playing even when cranked, and it has great distortion overtones and roars like a lion when pushed on the dirty channel. I am told that this speaker mimics the Celestion Vintage 30's , but I can guarantee you it has a better tone overall. Plus, it's American made! You cannot go wrong with this speaker in whatever application it might be installed. Just BUY it!!
