The G12M Creamback is perhaps the definitive vintage Celestion ceramic magnet guitar speaker. Developed in the mid-sixties, it was quickly adopted by players like Hendrix, Clapton, Beck and Page, who typified the louder and more aggressive blues rock playing styles that came to characterize that era.The G12M-65 Creamback produces the familiar woody G12M tone, but handles greater power making it ideally suited for today's amps, when a vintage tone is desired. The increased power handling brings with it low end grunt complementing the warm and vocal mid range, crunchy upper- mids and sweet, refined highs.

Can these be used as replacements in a 70s Twin Reverb minimum 4ohm load?
Asked by Anonymous on March 17th, 2016.
Depending on the year then two of these speakers should be great replacements. You can run two 8 ohm speakers down to the 4 ohm load of the amp and any amp power should be distributed between the two.

Can I parallel wire two 16 ohm speakers into a 1974 Twin Reverb?
Asked by Anonymous on April 23rd, 2016.
Generally Twin Reverb amps have a 4 ohm load with two 8 ohm speakers wired in parallel to achieve this. two 16 ohm speakers in parallel would bring you down to an 8 ohm load and would be somewhat mismatched.

Anybody used one of these in a Marshall DSL combo?
Asked by Anonymous on May 18th, 2018.
This would be a excellent choice for your Marshall giving you the classic G12M tone with more power!

If I have this 16ohm speaker in my combo amp and I want to add an extension speaker, does it have to be 16ohms also? Or can I use an 8ohm speaker with it? What is the best way to use it?
Asked by Anonymous on November 29th, 2020.
That depends on what your amp needs. If there is an extension speaker jack on the amp, it should have impedance rating requirements labeled, but generally speaking, there are very few situations in which mixing an 8 Ohm and a 16 Ohm speaker will be ideal.
