Can this be used with 12ax7 pre amp tubes. what is the outside diameter and height of the adapter. My pre amp tubes are set in the chassis so deep I can barely get a hold of them I hoping this will raise them enough to make changes easier.

Yes, you can use this with a 12AX7. Outside diameter is 0.87" and height is 0.76".
As pictured the socket saver cannot be fixed-mounted in a tube tester because the center screw is not long enough. It would need a longer screw and an additional nut as with most socket savers. This is more of a "socket adapter". Is it possible to obtain a 9-pin "socket saver" with the long mounting screw? Thanks,

Tube testers will not have a threaded socket for a longer screw to mate to. The screw used in these socket savers are simply there to attach the two separate components that make up this socket saver.
Can you use two of these on top of each other to make the socket higher off the board? What is the height of the socket saver? Thanks

These are 0.75" in height. We do not recommend stacking them.
