Potentiometers are used to control volume and tone. A potentiometer is a three-terminal resistor with a sliding or rotating contact that forms an adjustable voltage divider.Check out our Tech Corder articles on pots, including Potentiometer Types.

Potentiometer - PMT, Humbucker Control, Coil Filters
The HCP Humbucker Control Pot is a dual mode variable coil tap selector for electric guitars and basses that eliminates the additional switches associated with coil splitting a pair of humbuckers. In TAP mode, rotating the pot counterclockwise fades from humbuckers to outer coils (neck pickup South coil & bridge pickup North coil). Pulling the HCP control up and rotating it counterclockwise fades from humbuckers to inner coils (neck pickup North coil & bridge pickup South coil). Tonal control is expanded with the unique ability to coil tap both humbuckers in varying amounts. In COIL FILTER mode, turning the HCP control applies varying amounts of a specially tuned high frequency filter to only one coil of the selected coils of the humbuckers (either North or South coils can be filtered). This makes each pickup a single coil at high frequencies and a humbucker at lower frequencies which produces a sound similar to a pair of single coils but with a stronger, fuller tone and 50% less noise than coil tapping.
Potentiometer - Peavey, 100kΩ, Dual, Bracket
100K Dual Reverse Audio with bracket.
Potentiometer - Omeg, Reverse Audio, 20mm, Panel Mount, 350KΩ
High quality panel mount potentiometers from Omeg. These made-in-UK pots match the vintage Radiohm pots found in many vintage fuzz effects such as the Fuzz Face and Tonebender pedals and are a favorite for vintage style builds. They feature a high quality conductive polymer track that offers improved stability and extended life. The 350K resistance with an reverse audio (antilog) taper is perfect for germanium Fuzzrite builds. Includes mounting nut and lock washer. Features
- ⅜ in. Bushing
- Panel Mount
- Reverse Audio (Antilog) Taper
- Made in UK
- Life Expectancy of >20,000 cycles (tested at 30 times per minute)
- Conductive polymer (plastic) track (over twice the life of carbon tracks)
- Rotation angle: 300° ±5°
- Tolerance on Rated Resistance: ± 20%
Potentiometer - Audio, Knurled Shaft, Sealed, 24mm
Audio taper, knurled split shaft, sealed body 24mm potentiometer
Potentiometer - Alpha, Audio, 9mm, Vertical, 11 Detents, 100K
Audio taper, vertical mount, Alpha pots with a 6.35mm shaft diameter featuring 11 detents across the rotation. The 11 detent versions are useful for builds where 1-10 settings are commonly used or if the pot is used as a rotary switch along with a microcontroller. These 9mm pots are popular in DIY guitar pedals, synthesizers, and other projects. Mounting nut and washer included. See R-VAV-BX-11DET for linear taper versions.
Potentiometer - PMT, Audio, Variable Treble Bleed, ¾"
Precision Music Technologies V-Treb with 500KA CTS pot – Variable Treble Bleed Bypass Circuit. Made in USA. The V-Treb variable treble bleed/bypass circuit corrects the problem of high frequency losses at reduced volumes by allowing the player to control how bright or warm the tone will get as the volume control is reduced. Pot: 24 mm body diameter, ¼” knurled split shaft. Bushing diameter = 3/8”, Bushing Length = 3/4”. PCB dimentions: 1.06” x 0.46” x 0.07”
Potentiometer - Peavey, 10kΩ, Audio, Slide, 100mm
10K Audio, 100mm. Pin spacing: 4.870" x 0.191".
