Pedal Kit - Mod® Electronics, The Persuader Deluxe, Overdrive
The Mod® Electronics Persuader Deluxe utilizes a Darlington preamp to push cascaded triode vacuum tubes into distortion.
One dual triode vacuum tube is included with each kit (JJ 12AU7). In order to experiment with your sound, you can easily swap this tube out for other compatible tubes - just plug and play!
A boost switch provides an additional layer of flexibility with added gain and a little extra bottom end. An LED indicator lights up when the Persuader Deluxe is engaged and not in true bypass mode.
Operates on a 9V battery or AC adapter, which is not included. When completed, this pedal draws considerable current and battery life will be short. The Godlyke 9-volt adapter (M-PAS-S) may be purchased separately to power your new pedal.

Product Reviews
Mod kits persuader was a fun build, took me a grand total of 5 hrs to build (spaced out over 4 days) nice crunchy overdrive just a hint of fuzz. Works best in front of an amp instead of in the fx loop. Taa sad le your time, check your work every 4-5 steps and you should be fine.
This pedal sounds awesome! I bought it for my dad for christmas, he is an experienced electronics builder and was able to build this pedal pretty easily over two afternoons. Plugged it into his amp with a Fender strat and it gives a nice tube overdrive sound with a ton of volume boost as well!
This is the first time I've built a guitar pedal that did not have a PCB. It made things a tad more challenging (making sure you don't ground out the components, etc.). That said, I loved building this pedal. It was really tons of fun. Took it to band practice. Me and my brother really put it through the ringer testing it and all the tubes. He loved it so much he commissioned me to build one for him. So, I bought another one. Hopefully will be here for the weekend. I cannot wait.
TL;DR - This pedal was fun to build and sounds fantastic. DO IT!
This is my fourth Mod Kit build, third drive pedal. This one clearly presented more challenges than the others, and took a bit of trouble shooting before it worked. Fortunately, the included voltage guide helped me to identify two incorrect voltages, and (surprise) two incorrectly place resistors. Instructions were clear and understandable. The only downside for me was that I didn't actually learn much about tubes and their application/function in circuits. I was able to figure out a lot on other kits that helped me better understand various components, not so much here. Either way, I got a great sounding pedal out of a fun project. Currently, I'm running this with the 12AX7 with a nice rhythm crunch, with my Thunderdrive in front to push it hard for a lead boost.
This is a great pedal and a great kit. Fantastic instructions. Probably not the best choice if it's your first kit as there is some tight soldering required, but for anyone who's done point-to-point kits or assembly before it should be quite doable. The range of tones this pedal puts out is wonderful and it's really fun to experiment with different tubes.
This is my third build from MOD kits (Piledriver, Contortionist II). It was quite challenging to put it together, but that was part of the fun to take the time and make sure things were clean. The instructions are great, very clear. The pedal sounds great! The lower settings sound very similar to my blackface bandmaster when its cranked, then with the boost switch you get much thicker distortion, with fuzz qualities coming through. And each tube sounds quite different. Great product!
pedal sounds awesome! made a mod to adjust the tone, to flip between the darker original sound to a less dark sound... has a nice natural overdrive sound.
What a fun build. Kit was delivered quickly with easy to follow instructions. Be mindful not to mix up the 220 ohm and 220k ohm resistors. I did and spent hours trouble shooting. End result is a great sounding pedal. It is amazing how changing the tubes really changes the tone and amount of gain. Looking forward to my next build.
Great pedal. At first the pedal did not work because I got the resistors mixed up in the wrong places and I made an error on one of the wires but I did end up correcting the issues. I actually love this pedal. Very cool!
This kit is hard ,do yourself a favour.I got it all together and still wont work,I dont know wheather to try to put it back together or just save it for spare parts.
