The Grover® 138 Series deluxe machine heads are mounted three to a plate for the vintage look that has been popular for decades. The stamped back plate provides a sturdy base for mounting vertically or horizontally on the head stock. These state of the art diecast tuners are designed for usage on contemporary guitars and utilize the same mounting hole common to Grover 305 series medium tuners as well as the common Gotoh tuner with the mounting screw located offset at approximately 7 O'clock or 5 O'clock depending on left or right handed application. Uses the common modern 25/64 in. (10mm) peghole with a hex head type screw-in bushing and single mounting screw. All mounting hardware is included.

Machine heads without a sealed gear are criticized for not having the same smooth performance, efficiency and durability that sealed gear tuners have. The SD510 series solves these problems by combining “Rock-solid"™ technology and the post collar or: “self-center guide", found on enclosed gears in the base plate of the gear allowing the post to perfectly align itself with the bushing which attaches the gear to the headstock. The SD510 series uses a torque balancer to ensure steady rotation of the tuner button giving high quality sound performance as well as great functionality. Through it is use of the ideal materials selected for each component part you also obtain a far superior sound. 1:15 gear ratio.

The most notable feature of this unique machine head is the futuristic Three Step button, a fresh and funky design trademarked by Grover. This re-introduction of the Imperial is an exact reproduction of the originals, including a 16:1 gear ratio.

The introduction of the new Grover Locking Rotomatics® gives you the ease of use provided by a standard tuner and the positive locking of our internal cam post. Simply insert the string through the string hole, pull to tension by hand and begin tuning. As you start to tune, only the locking cam in the string post turns. Once the string is locked, the string post begins to turn allowing you to bring the string to pitch. In less than one revolution of the string post, you will be in tune, to stay in tune. Gear ratio is 18 to 1.
