if you get your tools together, and solder and desolder, some old parts lying around, it goes smoothly, and read the directions ,a couple of times, too i don,t think it took two hours, total, worked first shot, and sounds amasingly good for 25 bucks...

This is a good clean boost and was easy to assemble. Fun little project and I recommend it. A couple cons I ran into that may just my kit: My pot is incredibly scratchy to the point where I don't even want to touch it. Will probably swap it out soon. Also, while pressing the switch down, my signal is momentarily killed when the switch is down all the way. It's only for a split second. Minor, I know, but there it is. Again, I recommend this kit but you may want to have a little extra cash handy if any parts aren't up to spec.

I think this is going to be a great unit, but I think I fried the transistor during the soldering. The signal crackles and does not pick up the low levels. Customer support was great - two email exchanges in one day! They are arranging for a new transistor to be sent to me and I hope that will resolve the problem. Building it was easy (just don't put too much heat to the transistor leads).

This pedal is similar to the Halifax Bass Boost (circa 1969). The only performance criticism is that the potentiometer jumps up considerably when you get near the full on position. Other than that, it's a blast to use. I will likely buy another one and upgrade some of the components.

Great tone! An easy build with good instructions (you still need to know how to use a soldering iron though!) All parts were quality EXCEPT the output jack which was a cheap, cheesy Chinese jack, input jack was a Switchcraft (the best), luckily I had an extra Switchcraft jack laying around for the output jack. Shame on whoever included that cheesy output jack, an extra .10c gets you a Swithcraft. I still give it a 5-Excellent for the tone, makes everythings sound sweeter, adds chime and charm to chords and notes, and if you ever need to WHALLUP an amp input this can can really do it with 38db on tap.

This kit was so easy to build and now it's my go to cut-through-the-bologna pedal. I use it at large jam session house parties. If there's some drunko playin' too loud, I stomp on this to cut through that bologna!
