I noticed that there is no Mix pot.
If I were to add a blend pot at the input and run 1 side directly to the out, would I have a working dry circuit?
Asked by Anonymous on April 27th, 2019.
The reverb "level" knob works similarly to a blend adjustment by incrementally incorporating the "wet" signal.
The "dwell" control adjusts the input signal level driving the tank and the "reverb" control adjusts the level of output reverberations from the tank.
So if you turn the reverb control all of the way down, you will get only dry signal?
Does this unit work well going straight into a recorder? I currently don't use an amp, but play into a recorder and monitor with headphones.
As long as your equipment has decent preamps, this should sound great in that application.
What brand tubes ( RCA, Sovtek, Electro-Harmonix, Mullard, etc. do you include with this kit?
Asked by Anonymous on October 31st, 2020.
JJ Electronic tubes are included with the kit.
Mine did the same thing. What I did was replace the 12ax7 in V1 with a lower gain 5751. I can now turn the unit all the way up with no feedback and still get a nice range in the reverb.
The Power Switch in the diagrams/instructions of the Wave Reverb has lugs labeled as "T-On/P/T-Off" and the GC electronics switch has lugs labeled with numbers. Does the physical orientation of the GC Elec. switch matter? I want the down position of the switch to indicate that the unit is off just as it does in your design.
Asked by Anonymous on November 6th, 2020.
The orientation does not matter. Just make sure the switch is installed and wired as shown in the drawings.
Is there a cage / chassis that fits on top to conceal / protect the tubes?
Asked by Anonymous on March 5th, 2016.
There is not a cage available to cover the tubes but the unit is designed to be rack mounted in a 3U space so you could go that route if you require extra protection.
This looks to occupy 2 rack spaces. Odd perspective in the photo - is it 2 rack spaces all the way back?
Asked by Anonymous on February 16th, 2017.
The Wave is equipped to be rack mounted using just under 3U of space and is approximately 11 inches deep front to back.
How does this unit sound inserted into an guitar amp's effects loop?
Active vs. passive loop?
Series vs. parallel?
Asked by Anonymous on February 16th, 2017.
The Wave will sound great running through you amp's effects loop and can also be used at line level for recording.
Are the Wave parts (chassis, xformers, etc.) available separately?
Asked by Anonymous on March 24th, 2017.
All of the parts are available for purchase except the chassis (K-P103). For more information check out the Part List Drawing above.
Which tube(s) on this would be worth experimenting with to alter the tone?
Asked by Anonymous on May 26th, 2017.
The tubes types are set and optimized for this unit. You can however experiment with different brands.
Is there a 240 volt ac input version?
Asked by Anonymous on September 12th, 2017.
You would have to purchase the transformer separately. Do a search for SKU: P-T290WEX.
Hi. Quick question. Is it possible to have the price adjusted slightly lower for the kit, if someone wanted to buy it without the US mains transformer (e.g. planning on buying a separate 240V model overseas)? Thanks!
Asked by Anonymous on September 15th, 2017.
Unfortunately we can not discount the price of this kit.
Can you sell a stereo option? Since there is 3 springs, could you add a spring pickup to achieve a second/stereo out?
Asked by Anonymous on November 25th, 2017.
At this time we do not plan on making a stereo option. Since this is a kit, we encourage you to modify it at your discretion.
Can you buy it prebuilt?
Asked by Anonymous on May 17th, 2018.
At this time we are not offering this as a prebuilt kit.
This might be a weird question, but I was thinking of getting this kit and building a box for it, but I noticed in the instructions there is one image of it upside down, would I be able to mount it upside down with the controls at the top of the box/rack/tank? or would that cause any type of issues with the springs, tubes, ect?
Asked by Anonymous on June 20th, 2018.
The one thing you might need to take into consideration is the mounting plane of the reverb tank. Each tank is optimized to be used on a specific plane. For example, the tank in this kit uses a horizontal open side down mounting plane. For more information on mounting planes please see our article on reverb tanks: https://www.amplifiedparts.com/tech-corner/spring-reverb-tanks-explained-and-compared
Should i mark one of the 2 green wires on booth ends before twisting them together ?
Asked by Anonymous on April 7th, 2020.
The polarity of the filament won't affect the circuit so there is no need to keep track of the wires.
I'm experiencing immediate feedback when turning up the reverb past 2. Is there something specific I should check? Everything appears to be wired up into the correct locations.

Try swapping V2 with V4. This can sometimes fix feedback issues.
What is the purpose of the minimum dwell mod for The Wave?
Asked by Anonymous on March 7th, 2021.
On some builds the Dwell can introduce a slight hum when at zero. This mod can help to alleviate this issue if it shows up.
Can the tank be swapped out for different one's and if so which are compatible?
Asked by erikbrown5599 on March 17th, 2021.
Absolutely! As long as the required electronic specs are met, you can substitute any other specs that appeal to you more than those in the stock tank. We made an entire video series explaining the differences between the different types of tanks and how to decode the tank numbers and select the ideal replacement tank for you personally. https://www.amplifiedparts.com/tech-articles/spring-reverb-tanks-explained-and-compared-videos
