Capacitors

Capacitors are passive devices that are used in almost all electrical circuits for rectification, coupling and tuning. Also known as condensers, a capacitor is simply two electrical conductors separated by an insulating layer called a dielectric. The conductors are usually thin layers of aluminum foil, while the dielectric can be made up of many materials including paper, mylar, polypropylene, ceramic, mica, and even air. Electrolytic capacitors have a dielectric of aluminum oxide which is formed through the application of voltage after the capacitor is assembled. Characteristics of different capacitors are determined by not only the material used for the conductors and dielectric, but also by the thickness and physical spacing of the components.
C-368-X-400 Capacitor - Vishay BC, 400V, MKT368, Radial Lead
High quality radial capacitors rated at 400V. These MKT368 capacitors are produced by Vishay BC and formerly by Philips. These capacitors are made with metalized polyester film and sealed in epoxy lacquer. Their style and make is similar to the tropical fish capacitors of the 1960s and 70s. Suggested applications include blocking, bypassing, filtering, coupling and energy reservoir applications. Features
  • Polyester film dielectric
  • Vacuum deposited aluminum electrodes
  • Wound mono construction
  • Flame retardant epoxy material (UL-class 94 V-0)
  • Tinned wire radial leads
  • Performance Grade 1 (long life)
  • ±10% tolerance
  • Rated 400VDC

    C-M-400 Capacitor - Mallory, 400V, 150s, Axial Lead
Mallory axial capacitors rated for 400V. The available values are smaller in size than the 630V versions for builds where less space is available. These are also a great choice for use as guitar tone capacitors over the larger 630V versions. The Type 150 series axial lead metallized polyester non inductive capacitors are available in bulk or on tape and reel for automatic insertion. Type 150 is a general purpose capacitor for use in blocking, bypass, decoupling, smoothing and some timing applications. Features
    • Epoxy end fill meets UL94V-0
    • Non inductively wound
    • Flame retardant outer wrap meets UL510
    • Non polar
    Starting at $1.35
    C-MKT-X-400 Capacitor - Vishay Roederstein, 400V, MKT1813, Axial Lead
High quality axial capacitors rated at 400V. These MKT1813 capacitors are produced by Vishay Roederstein, formerly known as ERO. These capacitors are made with metalized polyester film and sealed in epoxy resin. Suggested applications include blocking, bypassing, filtering, timing, coupling and decoupling, interference suppression in low voltage applications. Features
    • Plastic-wrapped, epoxy resin sealed, flame retardant encapsulation
    • Non polar
    • Tubular metalized polyester film construction

    C-PH-RMST-D015 Capacitor - Philips, KT-347, 400V, .015uF, Polyester Film
New old stock radial capacitors from Philips with 10mm lead spacing. The KT-347 series capacitors feature the same lacquer coating as the Mullard / Philips mustard caps found in classic Marshall amps and many vintage pedals. These NOS caps feature a low-inductive wound cell of metal foil and a polyethylene terephthalate film.
    $2.25
