My amp has a 22UF 350 Cap, which SKU would be a suitable replacement?

Asked by Kevin Tolly on October 17th, 2016.

The closest Sprague we have is 30µF at 500V SKU# C-SA30-500. We have a generic cap that is 22µF at 350V. SKU: C-ET22-350.

I am trying to replace two 20uf 350v electrolytic capacitors in my Heath kit SB102 transceiver - I am looking for the best replacement for this. can you give me an idea what the best capacitors to use for this?

Asked by

The Sprague Atom or F&T brand electrolytics are favorites of many customers for their high quality.

How can I know which capacitor will work in an amp whose electronics have been painted to hide the component values?

Asked by

*Anonymous*on April 10th, 2017.
Caps can be tested by using a multimeter. Also, you could reference a schematic if one is available.

I have a '67 Blackface Vibro champ. There is little to no high frequency response. I don't see any 25pf caps (treble tone caps) in your assortments. Would your cap replacement kit help ? There is no hum so I think all else seems ok. Also I am new to reading schematics. Thanks !!

*Anonymous*on June 15th, 2017.
You typically want to change your electrolytic caps every 10 years. It is like an oil change for your amp. I would not worry about the other caps and only replace them if they fail.

This is something we do not have in an electrolytic cap.

My amp has a 47uF 350V cap. What C-SA SKU would you recommend? Thanks!

Asked by

*Anonymous*on November 6th, 2017.
We do not have a Sprague Atom with that value. Do a search for SKU: C-ET47-350.

Rookie questions here. Are these polarized, and will they work in a bias supply circuit for old tube amp?

Asked by

*Anonymous*on May 4th, 2018.
These are polarized and will work in any situation that calls for an electrolytic cap.

Looking for a tri electrolytic rated values 1,000; 300; & 250 @ 50 volts. This is an vintage fashioned can type capacitor with turn tab mounting. This capacitor is used in a Silvertone console. What would you suggest as a replacement?

Asked by

*Anonymous*on October 14th, 2018.
Unfortunately, we do not carry a can cap that has those values and we do not carry a capacitor that is rated as high as 1,000 uf at this time. We are unaware of a source for a can cap with these values.

I’m trying to replace two caps on my Hickok 533a tube tester. Would this be a good replacement for the 50uF-6v electrolytic currently in the unit (across the meter)?

Asked by

*Anonymous*on November 13th, 2018.
The C-SA50-50 would be safe to use. It goes higher in voltage, which is safe to do, but you will want to verify that the physical dimensions will allow the size of this cap comfortably.

DO YOU HAVE THEM ?

We do not carry 150MFD/uf caps at this time. You may possibly be able to combine multiple caps to make one that is rated at 150uf, but you will need to determine which caps you would like to use to do so.

## Product Reviews

Excellent Capacitor ! Only ones I use , They Work !

Good product despite the very high relative price. Also their large size can make it a challenge to substitute these inside an amp chassis where an external cap can was originally used.
