The positive lug will be the lug with writing on the wire. The negative will be the unmarked black wire.

On the cable I received, the unmarked black wire was positive

If you have a combo amp and want to use this with a head, then you would connect/solder the spade lugs to the speaker in the combo amp and then connect the 1/4" plug into the back of the head.

Excellent plug and play with the spades. Plenty of length to connect the speaker to the amp. One slight downside is that the positive/negative wires were not better defined. Overall great purchase.

great little plug, used two of them to connect my B52-AT100 amp head to a pair of Fender Ultimate chorus combo amps, now I have two speaker cabs w/dual 12" speakers. beats tearing down two combos for the speakers and building a new cabinet, just left them in their cabs, wired each pair in series, a little easier to haul two dual 12" cabs, than a big 4 x 12" cab. just wish they were a bit longer.
