Product Reviews
This is not the same Gotoh that came with my Japanese Tele (great bridge). This Gotoh bridge (GTC201) is missing the slots going all the way on the saddles. Looking at other sites. It seems to be the current design. I put this one on an American Tele. I believe this design change caused my high E to be muffled and lack sustain. I could have filed a slot but decided to try the Fender 6-saddle bridge also available at Amplified Parts. That fixed the issue I was having. The Fender bridge quality is really good being half the price of the Gotoh. The saddles screws on the Gotoh were also sticking out to the point of being uncomfortable. I was planning on filings them eventually. The screws are slightly recessed with the Fender bridge and makes it comfortable right out of the box. Based on my recent experience, I would not recommend the Gotoh. The Fender is a better design and it is cheaper.
This is an exceptional product. It is made to the highest standards. Your guitar will have better note definition and sustain. It is heavier than the typical ashtray bridge and a little heavier than the Fender modern telecaster bridge but well worth the additional weight unless your guitar is already on the heavy side. I am very happy with the upgrade !
