Superior "Black base" high-voltage power pentode. Most common power pentode found in British amplifiers such as Marshall, Hiwatt, Laney, and Sound City. The EL34EH defines the classic British rock sound of the 1960s and 1970s. Perfect EL34 for vintage equipment and for improved performance of modern amps. Extremely musical and predictable, with a sound that is rich, smooth, and detailed without being edgy.

  • Originally found in vintage British amplifiers such as Marshall, Hiwatt, and others
  • Also suitable for HiFi
  • 6CA7 equivalent

According to the technical journal, Vacuum Tube Valley, "The Electro-Harmonix EL34EH is balanced throughout the entire music spectrum. Bass goes deep and is tight, mids are sweet and well defined, and highs are detailed and extended."

These made my Svet's sound harsh. The butt is tight enuff and the mids/treble sweet. Really great crunch tone with these. I'm playing at volume with a pedaled Marshall Ori50H into an Orange H30/V30 412.

Problem for me now is I want to buy more & throw them in my 100 watt 4 ho!er, DSL40C, and SC800 too!

Apex matching was 4mv apart. I like them tighter if I'm paying for a matched pair in a one bias pot amp. No hum induced with the separation and I've used power tubes with 8mv difference and no hum. Not ideal, but sounded fine.

EHX tubes rock.
They have quickly become my favorite power tubes.
Tight lows (not woofy), grindy mids and smooth highs. These are my go-to tubes just as Amplified Parts is my go-to place!

Just tried a matched quad of these for the first time, replacing a quad of JJ EL34's in a 100 watt Marshall. Huge improvement in clarity and punch. Very musical, great Marshall roar, great cleanup when you roll back, and no fizziness. Much more of a difference than I was expecting. I'm totally sold on these EHX EL34's and highly recommend them.

I installed the tubes in my YJM100 Marshall, Ran the auto bias feature., and it was like the day I got it!!! So much more Marshall grit and pick attack... I forgot how good it could be! So happy with these tubes!! Can’t wait to try some other power tube options as it lets you use many different types of power tubes and it will bias itself....

I put a quad of these in a Dual Rectifier. Never been a big fan of 6L6’s and i had a dual rec years ago with EL34’s and really liked the tone. After popping these in the amp, it came to life. The mids are very pronounced (that i love). The bass is tight and the treble sings. Try em out!! I think youll like them.

I bought these tubes for my sovtek mig 60 and the amp came alive. Very good low end and crisp highs!

I have used the EH EL-34 in the outside sockets of my Mesa/Boogie Mark 3 Simulclass amp. This tube sounds the best for my amp. It is very musical and has a pleasant overdrive quality as well as good clean tone.
