Compatible amps include Fender® stand alone reverb and original ’63 Reverb. Also used in Marshall™, and Ampeg™ amps.
The Mod Electronics Reverb Tanks are high quality upgrade units. Some of the major differences between the Mod®s and other reverb tanks are that the Transducers are wired directly to their respective RCA jacks as opposed to current production tanks where Transducers are connected by a detachable plug to their respective RCA jacks. This makes the tanks less receptive to any outside interference. The original Hammond Accutronics tanks from the 1960s were also wired directly to their respective RCA jacks. In addition, very close attention has been paid to the spacing and size of the lamination of the Transducers resulting in a more vintage like tone.

I scratch built a Fender 6G15 stand-alone reverb unit using a Belton-Accutronics (Korean) tank and was underwhelmed with the tone and reverb quality. To me, the tone was rather shrill and brittle, particularly at higher Dwell settings. Following the advice on several forums, I replaced the tank with a 4AB3C1C Mod unit and noticed a significant improvement. The tone is now warmer and much more like that of a vintage tank. IMHO, Accutronics may have the most recognizable "name", but Mod seems to have superior, vintage tone.......and actually costs less (exceedingly rare nowadays).
