The 12BZ7 is a heather-cathode type high-mu twin triode of miniature construction designed for use as a resistance-coupled voltage amplifier or phase inverter and blocking oscillator. The 12BZ7 employs a center-tapped heater permitting operation from either a 6.3 or 12.6 volt supply. By design one 12BZ7 section has characteristics equivalent to two 12AX7 sections in parallel.

The 12BZ7 is an amazing tube for the PI. It gives a fuller sound and passes more range into the power amp section. Every amp I build with a LTP inverter has a 12BZ7 in it because they are amazing.
