Pedal Kit - Mod® Electronics, The Saturator
The Mod® Electronics Saturator is an overdrive pedal kit that can cover a wide range of gain effects, transitioning smoothly from a massive clean boost to a warm and saturated distortion with the turn of a knob.
The saturation is controlled with the Soak knob, which dials in the amount of symmetrical soft-clipping applied to the guitar signal. When fully counterclockwise, the signal is unaffected and clean. Rotating the knob clockwise will incrementally increase the soft-clipping, morphing from a clean signal through subtle-to-heavy saturated overdrive sounds and straight into distortion territory. The Level knob sets the overall volume of the clean or saturated output. Unity gain is at roughly 8 o'clock. With the Soak set to clean, rotating the Level knob clockwise will increase the level to upwards of 30 dB.

Product Reviews
Amplified Parts is absolutely Top Notch; the quality of the pedal kits, everything is great, from the shipping speed, to the packing, to the website descriptions, another critical factor is they print the assembly instructions, which obviously have been done with care and precision, easy to follow, with pictures, diagrams, perfect experience.
This is my third Mod Kit build, and the second overdrive (I posted reviews on Thunderdrive, and my subsequent mods to make it a Thunderdrive Limited). The Saturator was actually an easier build, at least in part because of the larger chassis/casing, which gave more room to work inside. This made for a nice afternoon project, instructions were clear and easy to follow. Finished pedal worked first time I plugged it in, and sounds great! Smoother drive sound than the Thunderdrive, nice and thick without being gritty. This was the first build I did with ModKits brand graphics on the box, I kinda liked the idea of being able to do custom paint jobs and graphics, visually it doesn't come across as "DIY". Totally worthwhile project for the electronics project experience, and a very usable pedal.
