Vacuum Tube - 12AY7, JJ Electronics

The JJ Electronic 12AY7 is a low microphonic tube built in the same rugged fashion as all JJ preamp tubes. This tube offers the classic warm 12AY7 sound with rich and balanced harmonics when pushed enough to break up. It’s a great choice for authentic tweed tones but can also help clean up amps when used in place of a 12AX7. Additionally, the JJ 12AY7 is a great replacement in 6072 microphones.

Great clarity and can tame the gain in your MV amp if needed.
Without sacrificing your tone..

I bought one of these along with a regular Sovtek 12AX7 to try out in the V1 of my Fender Hot Rod De'Ville. There is a difference, but it is not that noticeable. I think that in general this tube is just warmer sounding and has a little bit broader of a frequency response that the 12AX7 I was comparing it to. If you have a 12AX7 and want to try something a little bit different, I recommend this tube. Depending on your amp, don't expect it to be way cleaner, just a little bit. The fact that it is so cheap and so well made makes it hard to pass up.

Great tone. JJ hit another winner. If you're looking for that classic warm 12AY7 tone, this is it. Tame your fender deluxe or twin with these in the V1 and V2 positions, without losing an ounce of tone..if anything they have a bit more clarity and warmth.

Ordered 2. Had one with a bad hum. Contacted customer support, they sent a new one right away. Excellent!

I love these tubes to tame an amp that has too much gain.
More clean headroom = pedal friendly.. Great tube.. Love JJ tubes !

Very good tube. It replaced an ageing NOS GE in my Victoria deluxe 2012 that was crackling/popping. Quiet and very good. I did try an EH 12AY7, and I like it a bit better in my amp - but very subtle. I

Good tube, used to drive the reverb tank in a Princeton reverb amp, nice sound and provided a wider range of adjustment

Not horrible. Somewhat good but, a little blah at the same time. YMMV. I don't like to trash talk products. FWIW, I was comparing a NOS 12AX7 so not a totally fair comparison. Low cost, probably pretty hardy, and not terrible. Just pedestrian maybe. They're good to tame an unruly amp.
