I hear people rave about this tube to be as good as NOS euro tubes. They do sound great but they seem to be more modern sounding and just balls out all the time. No subtlety and less range.

Excellent product, made my amp sound superb.
Just ordered a few power tubes because I was so happy with Amplified Parts, even got an email from sales rep thanking me for my purchase!! Awesome !!!!

I have a Bugera V5 Infinium practice amp for six years. The tubes needed to be replaced. I bought the Genalex Gold Lion 12AX7 and the Mullard EL84 reissue. I'm not going to say it sounds like a new amp but the sound definitely improved. The original tubes had a ringing, sort of hollow, empty sound. This tube combination has a rich, more focused sound that is much better suited for the wind synths I play. I just re-ordered a spare set. The price of the set increased seven dollars total already, what with all putin's insanity in Ukraine and all the sanctions. Stock up. ;)

I compared several 12AX7 tubes. I found this tube to be a bit too bright and with a bit too much drive. I preferred the Mullard CV4004. I thought the Mullard had better definition than the Gold Lion. I did not get gold pins. I was surprised to see that this tube is now made in China.

I replaced the factory pair of 12ax7s in my Pro-ject Tube Box DS2 with a pair of these darlings. I'd been told the phonostage was not good enough to be worth tube rolling. BOLLOCKS.System is a Rega RP-8 with Apheta 3, into a Pro-ject Tube Box DS2. Then a Vincent sa-31 pre-amp into a Parasound A-23 solid state power amp. That drive a pair of B&W 706S2s.

The first few minutes these tubes were muddy and noisy. Within a album they had already gotten full and even. Within a day the sound was far beyond the previous set of tubes. I was able to lower the gain on my phonostage by 5dB, from 65 to 60, and still use less volume on my pre-amp and power amp to drive my speakers. This made quite a nice difference in dropping noise floor. As this is my first effort at tube rolling I'm surprised and very pleased with the out come.

I'm absolutely pleased with the $93 investment and the resultant improvements in my audio system..I also want to thank Amplified Parts for their tube comparison reviews. I used them to select what tubes to get. Using the low, mid and high ratings as well as the power output numbers to figure out what seemed like the best bet for the change I was wanting to get out of the exercise.

I like it. It has a bit of personality around the edges and a good amount of gain. Makes my strat sound stratty. I'm not audiophile enough to quantify it more than that and it all comes with a grain of salt.

I'm using it in a homemade Fender Champ type circuit with a 6L6 power tube. I like this tube better than the other preamp tubes I have tried in this amp : JJ (bright and brittle), EH (round and maybe dull - but I love them in my Vox) and Mullard (nice clean, not overly harmonic).

Note that the desc says Made in Russia, but the tube is stamped Made in China. This is the standard pin tube.

I just love these tubes !!!
These are some of the best tubes out there today.. The natural sustain that comes out of these tubes is unbelievable... I put these in my 100 watt Plexi and the sound is in a word AWESOME ! I ordered more for my 50 watt Plexi. They are pricy, But you get what you pay for. I will stock up on these tubes.
