The Mod Electronics Reverb Tanks are high quality upgrade units. Some of the major differences between the Mod®s and other reverb tanks are that the Transducers are wired directly to their respective RCA jacks as opposed to current production tanks where Transducers are connected by a detachable plug to their respective RCA jacks. This makes the tanks less receptive to any outside interference. The original Hammond Accutronics tanks from the 1960s were also wired directly to their respective RCA jacks. In addition, very close attention has been paid to the spacing and size of the lamination of the Transducers resulting in a more vintage like tone.

Terrific reverb tone and performance. I bought this as part of an upgrade/mod to a Fender Custom Vibrolux amp. I’ll probably buy a few more for my future amp projects. Highly recommended.

I bought this reverb tank to go in a Carvin VT112 combo. It was a direct replacement for the existing tank. The reverb is great in my opinion. It isn't crazy deep, but also isn't dark or muddy. I feel the price is great and would definitely buy it again. I can't comment on this unit compared to other units out there, as I have never sat down and tried out various models of reverb tanks side by side. I am happy with the sound I am getting out of it though.

The MOD long decay, 3-spring made a big difference in the quality of my sound. My tech friend, Paul, and I have been restoring / renovating a mid-60s Benson 300 tube amp. Paul had to replace the original reverb transformer ( it was an Audio Interstage Transformer with very high impedance ) with an 8-Ohm Fender transformer in order to give me more options in different reverb tanks. I also tried the MOD long-decay, 2-spring model but I was buried in reverb that wasn't very usable, in my opinion. The 3-spring model really cleaned-up the overall sound and had much more clarity. I'm also going to compare it with the MOD medium-decay, 3-spring model which is currently on order. Great quality MODs!

I've had a Limited edition (12 inch alnico speaker) '65 Princeton Reverb re-issue for about a year, and, though I really love the tone of the amp, I never wanted to add any more than a tiny bit of reverb because the factory unit had an irritating flutter. I replaced the original 2-spring short decay tank with this 3-spring long decay unit and the improvement was dramatic - a smoother, fuller sound. The swap was easy, but I did notice that the color code on the input and output connectors was different from the original, so make sure you connect your new tank using the in and out labels as your guide. Thank you, Amplified Parts, for having such an informative web site.
