Eminence Legend 1028K 10 inch is one of the best available for vintage tone!
These days there are now many very good choices for 10" spkrs. Each of those other choices have different strengths that favor various applications.
I've tried many-all were good in different ways.
Eminence Legend 1028K 10 inch is the closest to vintage tone. I grew up in the 60's playing a Fender Princeton Reverb, and this is the speaker that replicates THAT sound the best. It is also surprisingly lightweight yet very strong sounding. I've used these in various Fender amps: Princeton, Vibrolux, and Super Reverbs. These speakers sound outstanding in those amps whether clean, gritty, or screaming.
Love it so far. Installed in a compact 2-10” cabinet along with a Lil Buddy in parallel. Cab is 1/3 open back with a center divider (for now- lol) , so each speaker has it’s “own yard to play in”. Works well with my Egnator and even my Mesa Roadster. Very pleased with the results. The alnico really brings out a lot of detail in the upper frequencies without being harsh.
