It is true that this soldering iron has more power than the WTCPT. But that comes at a very steep price. The WTCPT station has a STEEL reinforced soldering iron that will take the pressure when used to DE-solder components. The WEP-70 has a 100% plastic handle. The slightest pressure will cause it to disintegrate in your hands. The WEP-70 can onlyl be used to solder new connections. Other than that, the actual soldering iron itself is useless. If you need to modify a connection, or desolder a component, reach for you old WTCPT with the steel reinforced iron that you can LEAN on without fear that it will break.
