9 pin miniature preamp tube (Amplification Factor = 100). This Slovakian tube is full bodied and bright with lots of depth and color. It's like the 12AX7-S-JJ on steroids, keeping the definition and adding a lot of bite and brightness. In overdrive, it keeps its well defined bite and brings out the highs.

for 12AX7 / ECC83 Gold Pin, JJ

I put a pair of these tubes

I put a pair of these tubes in my Morgan and haven't been happier. They help keep my tone ringing clear. This is my go-to 12ax7.

I bought this tube with the other 12AT7-gold-JJ tube and they sound great. I couldn't believe the price was so low and delivery was fast.

I just received three of these and put them my 73 Marshall 50 watt amp. They are everything I have read about them. Plenty of gain, with less noise, and less raspy than regular JJ's. They are great sounding tubes! Only three days from Tempe, Arizona to Lubbock, Texas via First Class mail and well packed. No need to pay extra for express shipping unless unless you need them in a hurry. Now I want to try the gold pin 803's and put the 83's in my combo amps. Thanks, from a native Texan but one time Arizonian.

Installed on a Marshall

Installed on a Marshall VST-100, actually I'm looking for the perfect preamp valve to match my tastes on this amp. This one is far better than a stock jj83: a very good tube, with smooth tones, and yet a good rock distortion from low end to middle tones.Still can't decide if I prefer the even brighter and more detailed tone on distorsions of a 12AX7 (but loosing all the lower frequencies that I love and that jj series can give) or this one.Anyway I appreciate the fact that in the overall sound this valve makes a VAST difference on middle and lower tones, the amp sound really comes out, I'd like only a little more definition on high ends.

I bought this tube as an

I bought this tube as an experiment to see if the tone of my son's VOX Tonelab LE multi-effects guitar pedal could be improved. The stock tube is the Electro-Harmonix 12AX7 / ECC83, which is a very good tube to begin with, but this new tube gave his guitar more gain and also more clearly defined highs and lows. It has very low noise and breaks up more smoothly when overdriven, with more crunch and less fizz than the Electro-Harmonix. Overall it was a subtle, but discernible difference to a trained ear and well worth the investment, IMHO.

I did not know how much the

I did not know how much the pre-amp tubes alter the tone and sound of an amp until I put 2 of the JJ12AX7 / ECC83s in my 65 Bandmaster. I have never heard a Bandmaster sound like that. I'm going to put 2 of these in everyone of my amps.

I've had the Bugera V5 guitar

I've had the Bugera V5 guitar amp for a month and think that its a great buy for the money and fun to play through. The overall sound was good. I purchased the JJ 12ax7/ECC83 gold pin preamp tube and the JJ EL84 power amp tube to backup the stock BUGERA tubes.I decided to put the JJ tubes in and use the stock as backups. The difference was very noticeable. The amp now sounds richer with more presence and smoothness. The JJ tubes improved all ranges of EQ and general tone whether I play clean or all out distortion. It was like having a switch that went from good to better.
