for whatever reasons...the fender labeled 12ax7's are superior to any on the market.yes i know..a bold statement.but mind you i have many new and nos tubes and these standout bigtime among great tone. i know this cause i experiment alot in changing the pre amp tubes and have since quit doing it when i came across these.the stock fender labeled ones in their amps are the same and no need to change.enough said.

This is a great tube, and if I may respond to a previous review (Hendrix91870), Fender branded tubes sound good in Fender amps because Fender does their own screening, both for noise and microphonics at their own factories, and in the characteristics they request from the tube manufacturer. THIS particular Fender tube sounds great because its a great tube anyway. It is actually, an Electroharmonix long plate 5751, and "as everyone knows" 5751 tubes just sound great in the main preamp position in Fender amps. I prefer these to my JAN NOS Sylvania 5751's.
