I'm very critical of tone in general. I usually buy the best that I can afford. The 'secret magical green cone' is a totally lame tagline but my buddy has a pair of these and he let me borrow his 212. I was very impressed with the speakers overall. I don't like the Jensen RI speakers but this new Jet is something else. Benjamin Willard

First, let me say that this is the worst ad campaign for the best speaker I've heard in a while. Seriously, a "secret magical green cone?" Give me a break. Why resort to the BS? Don't give me a line, just tell me what I'm buying.Try not to let it turn you off to an otherwise great product. Compare sound clips with other models on Jensen's website, and keep in mind that this thing costs less than $100.I dropped one into my '64 Ampeg Jet. It's a tight space, but the speaker fit just fine. The improvement over a period correct speaker was dramatic. This thing has balls to spare and allows the amp to break up in a tight, organic overdrive that gives me chills. This is a more even sounding speaker than the traditional Jensen 12" combo amp drivers. The woody resonant frequencies are less overbearing, but the amp still has a color to it that flatters warm and bright guitars alike. Phillip Broste
