These are real, made in Germany, Schaller Straplocks, they're just in Fender packaging.
Not only are the Fender packaged locks sold for less than Schaller packaged locks but Fender also includes a pair of black and a pair of white felt washers to install between the strap button and the guitar body.
I have been using Schaller Straplocks on every bass and guitar I have owned since 1983. Everyone in my band uses them and almost every guitarist and bassist I know does too.
There's simply nothing better out there to make sure you guitar stays on it's strap.

Another plus is that Amplified parts sells these for less than Guitar Center/Musicians Friend does.
