The MOD 101 is a 60 watt vacuum tube amp kit. Comes with complete instructions for putting together kit as well as detailing 32 circuit variations including: Tone Stack Mod, Input Voltage Divider Mod, Negative Feedback Mod, Bypass Cap Mod & Power Tube Mod. Choose either 6L6 or EL34 configuration!

I built this amp also. It was okay in stock form, nothing to call home about. I've since changed a lot of the circuit, especially the preamp. The amp really sings now. As for the schematic, if you email modamp (info@modkitsdiy.com), they will send you one. They were very quick to send me the diagram, and also answered some questions I had during the build.
This is a nice amp. The kit was fun to build and the instructions were great.I am very happy with it, but I had a few issues.1. The pots are awful, even after a thorough cleaning, they were noisy. I replaced them with some quality pots from AES (Antique Electronic Supply) and now they are quiet as a mouse.2. The instructions say to file the holes before mounting parts. I did that, but still had problems with bad grounds. Star washers that bite into the paint would be a much better choice than the lock washers supplied.3. I think the power supply could be better and I will probably make these improvements myself. How about a full wave bridge and some better filtering?4. The kit comes with no schematic diagram. It is not needed to assemble the kit, but is needed for future troubleshooting and making modifications.I searched the internet for the schematic and found nothing.
This kit was my first amp build. I had fun and learned a lot while putting it together. Now I have a great time gigging with it! (I carry it to gigs in a duffle bag which is much better than lugging it around by the handles).I bought a black painted steel cage and white chicken head knobs to match my Marshall 4x12 cab better. I also use a Hot Plate to get some rich creamy overdrive distortion from this amp at full blast.After demonstrating clean and overdrive sounds at sound check the other night, the sound man walked up to me on stage and said, "Hey, man... your setup is solid!" Thanks, dude... I know.
