YJR, the Yellow Jackets® Rectifier Converter

Yellow Jackets® is pleased to announce a new tube converter, its first new product introduction in years. This new device is a rectifier tube converter, the YJR, which converts your 5U4, 5AR4 or 5Y3 tube to a solid state rectifier. It is easy to install and requires no adjustments to your amplifier. The YJR improves your amplifier by giving you a tighter sound because it reduces the voltage sag in your amplifier’s power supply.

The YJR is made in a gold plated tube socket and uses premium components for optimal quality and sound. It is hand made in the USA as are all other well respected Yellow Jackets® tube converters that musicians love. Yellow Jackets® are known for their high quality and ability to change the tone of your amplifier without the need of a technician.

Yellow Jackets® have been manufacturing tube converters for over a decade.

So, another action packed Monday here at Amplified Parts. Speaking of speakers..have you checked out the new Jensen Tone Chart yet? It has been around awhile, but is always being updated as new speakers come out. The next update should include the brand new Jensen Falcon!

Rated Power: Overall cabinet wattage is equal to the sum of each individual speaker’s power rating. For speaker longevity and health, Jensen recommends an overall cabinet wattage equal to about twice the amplifier’s output wattage.

GUITARIST DESCRIPTION: Descriptions of tone are subjective and do not represent the only possible interpretation of sound heard from each speaker. Ultimately, the tone of a speaker is a product of many factors including the player, the listener, the instrument, the amp, the cabinet, effects and the room in which it is played. Genre of music for each speaker is purposely not mentioned due to the myriad of tones generally used in each genre.

OVERDRIVE FEEL (How the speaker responds to an overdriven signal from the amplifier and not the speaker itself being overdriven.) Due to the variety of overdrive effects available, as well as their varying gain settings, the descriptions are broad and are not meant to limit any speaker to one genre of music.

Jensen Musical Instrument Speakers is pleased to announce the latest addition to the Jensen Jet series, the 12” Falcon. This 50 watt speaker introduces a new style of cone, a secret magical green cone.

The Falcon’s tone is warm and full bodied with lows that are rich and fat. It responds to overdrive distortion with a colorful crunch. The secret magical green cone is specially designed to ensure optimum tone, no matter what style of music.

This latest release of the 12” Falcon demonstrates Jensen’s tradition of giving players what they are asking for in tone. With Jensen’s continued commitment to focus on allowing the player to achieve his/her signature sound, watch for more Jensen Jet series speaker designs on the horizon.

So Gear Alley ended on Friday and the Guitar Show on Saturday. We sold some stuff but mainly it was just about talking to musicians and bonding with customers. It was freezing cold on Saturday! I saw quite a few bands on that night,(The Like, Minus the Bear, Kings Go Forth, CasioKids plus about a zillion others that weren’t on my schedule.) Sunday, the last day of the Festival, was pretty dead. I expected more of a finale, but there were really only a few bands playing and venues open, with not many people on the streets. South By Southwest was a great time and a success, but it was a long trip. We are glad to be home and are now getting ready to put on the Tempe Guitar Show!
